SSM 27th: Committment

I've irrevocably exposed myself as a SasuSaku fangirl. It's 12:30 am on the 27th so here is my contribution for SasuSaku Month 2012's prompt "Committment."

Marriage can be considered a set of chains that patriarchal societies use to enslave women and protect male lineages. I've also done nothing but draw Sakura in submissive poses so far, so that's done nothing but to support the consistent relegation of women in Shonen Jump mangas to supporting/nurturing roles. (Nevertheless, I still love Kishimoto and Rurouni Kenshin's Watsuhiro even though the same thing happens T___T) My pathetic excuse is that I'm not good at doing action poses or short hair, but I'll start working on that right away. The drawing I've prepared for tomorrow's "Crime" is a little better ><.

Raging feminism aside, Shinto weddings are really freaking beautiful. I've always wanted to do one ever since I saw Kaoru's in the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs. I also understand that the whole headdress should be a black wig, but lets just say Sakura made her hair longer with some jutsu to make herself identifiable.

And well, who doesn't want to get married? It's pretty special if it's with the right person. The temple wall just looks awful next to the trees outside though. Gah.
